PriceMyPills has created this Privacy Policy to explain what information we gather from you when you use the PriceMyPills website (pricemypills.com) and the PriceMyPills mobile app (collectively, the “Online Platform”), how we use this information, the security approaches we use to protect your information, and how you can access and correct certain information that we may collect. Please note that this Privacy Policy only applies to information collected via the Online Platform; it does not apply to information you disclose to PriceMyPills through offline correspondence or personal contacts with PriceMyPills’ representatives. This Privacy Policy is incorporated and made part of PriceMyPills’ Terms of Use.
What information does PriceMyPills collect?
PriceMyPills collects information from you when you register on the Online Platform and use the Online Platform for services offered by PriceMyPills. When ordering, registering or subscribing to any newsletters or other publications, PriceMyPills may ask you for your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information or other information. You may, however, visit portions of the Online Platform without providing such information.
Generally, PriceMyPills does not collect the name and contact information of casual visitors to the Online Platform. However, to become a subscriber, you will need to provide us with some personal information so that we can provide services to you. By providing your personal information, you agree to let us use such personal information in order to fulfill your requested service and to contact you about prescription savings opportunities.
PriceMyPills uses IP addresses and session identifiers to analyze trends, to administer the Online Platform, to track user activities, to infer user interests, and to otherwise induce, deduce, and gather information about individual users and market segments.
PriceMyPills uses “cookies” to enhance your experience and gather information about visitors and visits to our Online Experience. We use cookies to collect, store and sometimes track information for statistical purposes to improve the services we provide. If you are a subscriber, we will use a cookie to save your settings and to provide customizable and personalized services. We also use cookies that let us know your location, the drug information visited while on our site and the third party websites you visited before accessing our Site (“referrer information”). If you are a registered user, the foregoing information is associated with your PriceMyPills account information. We retain the information we receive from the cookies we place on your computer for thirty days. These cookies do not enable third parties to access any of your personally identifiable information.
You should know that if you visit other websites, you may be required to accept third-party cookies. We do not control the use of any cookies that are deposited on your computer when you visit third-party websites, and we expressly disclaim responsibility for information collected through them.
PriceMyPills has both Pharmacy Subscribers and Patient Subscribers. Pharmacy Subscribers are licensed pharmacies in the United States. Patient Subscribers are individual patients who are seeking to shop for prescription medication. Pharmacy Subscribers that use PriceMyPills may text or email Patient Subscribers regarding their prescriptions. By providing your phone number or email address to PriceMyPills, you are agreeing to be contacted with prescription-related information, and you acknowledge that there may be some risk that the communications could be read by a third party.
When you contact us by email or other communications, you may provide us with your name, contact information and your medical information. We use this information to respond to your communications and to try and fulfill any customer service requests.
When you access the Online Platform, our servers automatically record certain information. These logs include information such as the date and time you access the Online Platform, the browser you are using, and other common browser information. We will use this log information to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our Site. Your log information also may be used to gather broad demographic information.
When you are using the Online Platform with a browser or mobile device, you can enter a location or give PriceMyPills permission to access to your location. PriceMyPills collects and stores that information.
Do we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?
Generally, we do not disclose information we collect to outside parties, except as follows:
- To Pharmacy Subscribers or other vendors whose products or services you have requested, in order to deliver those products or services to you.
- To our subsidiaries or affiliates, strategic partners and to third parties we engage to provide services on our behalf, such as web sites hosting, credit card payment processing, order processing, delivery, etc. We prohibit these parties from using your personal information for any other purpose.
- In response to a subpoena or court order, or a request from a law enforcement or other government agency.
- To establish or exercise our legal rights, or to defend against claims.
- To protect the safety or security of the public or of subscribers and other users of the Online Platform.
- We may disclose aggregate information about users of the Online Platform to our service providers, partners, advertisers or others, but such information will not include personal information.
PriceMyPills rarely shares information with a third party that associates you personally with your specific medical information. When we do disclose your personal information in conjunction with your specific medical information, PriceMyPills ensures that these third parties are bound to comply with federal standards as to how to treat medical data that is linked with your name, contact information and other personal identifiers.
Safeguarding Your Personal Information
PriceMyPills follows the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”), Payment Card Industry (“PCI”) Data Security Standard, and other generally accepted industry security standards to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security and correctly use personal and health information. However, no commercial method of information transfer over the Internet or electronic data storage is known to be 100% secure. As a result, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of that information during its transmission or its storage in our systems. Other than these security measures, you transmit data, including personal and health information, to us at your own risk.
Children’s Privacy
The Online Platform is not directed to children under the age of 13, and is intended for adults age 18 or older. PriceMyPills does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 18. We assume the Online Platform is used by adults or minors supervised by a parent or guardian. We respect the privacy of parents and children and are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA").
We may ask prospective users to provide their age during the registration process and on other areas of our website or mobile app. If a user indicates that he or she is under the age of 13 then all personal data collected during the registration process is automatically deleted except that we may retain and use limited information, such as the child's email address, for a limited period of time, in those cases where we believe that the collection and use of such information is permitted under COPPA.
If a parent believes that his or her child has provided us with personal information, he or she can contact us via email as listed below. We will promptly delete the information upon learning that it relates to a child under the age of 13.
Your Acceptance of this Privacy Policy and Changes to it.
By using the Online Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information by PriceMyPills in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, you may not use the Online Platform. PriceMyPills reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time, without prior notice. Changes take effect on the date that appears on the revised Privacy Policy. If you use the Online Platform following a change to the Privacy Policy, your use will be understood to signal that you accept the changes. We suggest you review this Privacy Policy frequently for changes.
